'Taegukgi' Reaches 7 Mil. at Record Speed

The blockbuster film about two brothers' relationship during the Korean War broke the seven-million-viewer mark in a record number of days since its opening. "Taegukgi," directed by Kang Je-gyu and starring Jang Dong-gun and Won Bin, was seen by 7 million moviegoers in 21 days since its opening on Feb. 5, the Web site Maxmovie ( www.maxmovie.com ) reported. It is 10 days faster than "Silmido," the film about a group of suicide commandoes in the early 1970s, which set a new box-office record by going over 10 million viewers.
