With Shin Hyun-ji (23) and Bae Yoon-young (22) there are now four Koreans on the list, which is compiled based on their performance in global commercials, magazines and fashion shows.

Shin was added in January and Bae in April. Choi So-ra has been on the list since May 2017 and Jung Ho-yeon since last September.

Shin's international career took off with the Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week in 2016. She has been on the runway 33 times for the 2019 Fall/Winter season for global luxury brands like Chanel, Fendi, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent. She was also in commercials for Calvin Klein and Mulberry and recently for Prada.

Bae modeled exclusively for the 2017 Spring/Summer Prada collection, and has been on runway 27 times for the 2019 Fall/Winter season for Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, and Valentino. She was on the latest cover of British Vogue and in the Chanel-Pharrell campaign.

"Being at the forefront of a trend is exciting", said Shin, who is currently based in New York. But life in the glitzy fashion industry does not come without cost. Patience and self-control are the running themes of her daily life since only dieting will keep models in shape, and they are prone to pains and aches all over the body.

Bae, who is also based in New York, said, "I love eating, so it makes me sad that I have to control what and how much I eat. I constantly try to remind myself that I am representing Korea, so I have to be exemplary".
