"The Scarecrow" is a suspense drama that spans 33 years, from 1988 to 2019, following a man who must ally with his enemy to catch a serial killer. The story traces his pursuit of truth while exploring themes of hatred and uneasy alliances. The drama is inspired by the real-life Lee Chun-jae serial murder case. Rather than focusing solely on a detective story or a psychological thriller about a serial killer, the drama delves into the human lives affected by the murderer-people whose lives are irreversibly changed by their encounters with him.

This marks Song Geon-hee's next project following last year's hit tvN drama "Lovely Runner". After careful consideration, he chose "The Scarecrow", which will meet viewers in the first half of next year.

The drama is directed by Park Joon-woo, known for "Taxi Driver", "Crash", and "Mary Kills People", and written by Lee Ji-hyeon-II, who previously collaborated with Park Joon-woo on "Taxi Driver". In addition to Song Geon-hee, the cast includes Park Hae-soo, Kwak Sun-young, and Lee Hee-jun. Filming is expected to conclude soon, with ENA scheduling the drama for broadcast in the first half of next year.
