Actress Jeon Mi-sun Kills Herself

Actress Jeon Mi-sun was found dead in an apparent suicide at a hotel in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province on Saturday. She was 48.

Her sudden death shocked fans and colleagues, and tributes poured in over the weekend. Many fellow actors such as Song Kang-ho, Yeom Jung-ah, Park So-dam, and Jung Yoo-mi and film director Bong Joon-ho visited a memorial altar at the Asan Medical Center in Seoul on Sunday.
Jeon made her debut in 1989 in a KBS drama series based on Park Kyung-ni's epic novel "Toji, the Land". At the time of her death, she was in her hometown of Jeonju on a tour of the long-running play "2 Nights and 3 Days with My Mother".
Her latest film "The King's Letters" is due to be released on July 24, and she was scheduled to appear in a drama series this fall.
Her management agency said Jeon had been seeing a psychiatrist for treatment of depression. She leaves behind her husband Park Sang-hoon and a son.
