Actress Kang Soo-yeon to Helm This Year's Busan Film Fest

Actress Kang Soo-yeon was appointed Monday as the co-executive director of this year's Busan International Film Festival, which marks its 20th anniversary.

Kang has been involved in promoting Asia's largest film festival since 1998 as a member of the executive committee, and has helped actors, both local and overseas, to connect with the festival.
"I feel a great sense of responsibility accepting this position, but I will do my best to make the festival much better", said Kang, who will oversee the event with fellow executive director Lee Yong-kwan.
Kang Won the best actress award for her film "The Surrogate Woman" at the Venice International Film Festival in 1987 and again another two years later at the Moscow International Film Festival with the film "Come, Come, Come, Upward".
She has served as a jury member at numerous major international film festivals.
