Actress Yoon Marks 40th Anniversary of Debut

A special exhibition to commemorate the 40th anniversary of veteran actress Yoon Jung-hee's debut on the screen will be held at the Korean Film Archive (KOFA) in Sangam-dong, Seoul, Dec. 22.
The exhibit is intended to celebrate her contribution to Korean cinema over the past 40 years as one of the big three actresses along with Moon Hee and Nam Jung-hee in the 1960s.
Her husband and renowned pianist Paik Kun-woo will attend the event, along with other celebrities such as director Kim Soo-yong, actor Kang-Shin Sung-il and multi-award winning actress Jeon Do-yeon.
As part of the event, "A Shaman's Story" (1972) will be screened at 2 p.m. and "Gang Myeong-hwa" (1967) will be shown at 3:50 p.m.
Yoon rose to the stardom with her debut film, "Sorrowful Youth" in 1967, which drew 270,000 viewers in Seoul alone.
She starred in a number of hit films such as "Mist" (1967), "Longing in Every Heart" (1967), and "An Old Potter" (1969).
Until recently, she had been active as a judge at various film festivals.
