Bong Joon-ho's Award-Winning Film on Track to Reach 10 Million Viewers

Director Bong Joon-ho's latest film "Parasite" drew over 9 million viewers as of Sunday.

The film, which won the top prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival last month, reached the milestone in less than a month since its release here on May 30.

At this rate, the film is expected to draw over 10 million viewers sooner or later. If so, it will become Bong's second film to achieve the feat following his monster film "The Host", which attracted over 13 million viewers in 2006.

"Parasite" is directed by Bong Joon-ho, and features Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Wooshik, Park So-dam, Lee Jung-eun. Release date in Korea: 2019/05/30.
