After hitting theaters amid huge hype in the wake of receiving the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival last month, the film drew about 568,000 viewers on its opening day. It recorded over 667,000 admissions on Friday and 2 million on the weekend to reach the 3-million mark.
The film seems to have multi-generational appeal.
According to multiplex chain CGV, people in their 20s accounted for the biggest proportion of ticket sales at 31.7 percent, followed by 30-somethings with 31 percent and 40-somethings with 22.4 percent. Those in their 50s also took up a sizable 13.1 percent.
