Chae Shi-ra to Return to TV After 3 Years

Actress Chae Shi-ra will return to the small screen for the first time in three years playing a bold mother character.

"Chae is set to take the lead in a weekend TV series, which will start airing on MBC in May", her management agency said in a press release on Monday.
The new TV series is based on a popular Web fiction series that has gained huge popularity. The story revolves around two women -- a mother and her son's pregnant girlfriend -- who end up living together.
In a departure from the self-sacrificing mother character that has long been a staple of Korean TV dramas, Chae will play a fearless mother who tries to love herself and protect her dignity.
"I decided to join the project because I believe my character will encourage many women and mothers of this age to live according to their own initiative", Chae said.
