G-Dragon Donates Money to UN Refugee Agency on His Birthday

G-Dragon of boy band Big Bang made a donation to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to mark his birthday.

He donated W81.8 million on his birthday, Aug. 18 (US$1=W1,118).

"G-Dragon wanted to help needy refugees who have been forced from their homes in conflict areas, and to raise awareness of their plight. Hopefully, more people will pay attention to the issue and join in helping refugees", his management agency, YG Entertainment, said on Friday.

To mark Big Bang's 10th anniversary, the group's members have joined UNICEF's "Celebrate and Give" campaign, which encourages people to mark special days such as birthdays, weddings and other occasions by making a donation.
