Ha Ji-won, the new NGO promotional ambassador

KOTRA named Ha Ji-won as the next promotional ambassador for the International Medical Treatment NGO "Operation Smile". The celebration event will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam this month.

"Operation Smile" is a global and medical NGO that treats children in over 63 countries who have facial deformation.

Ha Ji-won is the first Asian woman and second Asian after Jackie Chan to be named promotional ambassador for NGO. Worldwide singer Mariah Carey and actress Jessica Simpson have all been through the process.

"Operation Smile" invites 500 or so medical personnel from all over the world including Korea to the event. The free operations start from the 15th for over 5,000 children all over the world.

Ha Ji-won is going to take part in 'Operation Smile" by taking part in conferences and donations and charity events.
