According to MyDaily on July 15th, Han Sunhwa has been cast as one of the leads in the upcoming drama "Destruction Emperor".
Han Sunhwa will play Han Se-hwa, a tenacious reporter who is the first to expose a powerful criminal cartel. Although she founded what sounds like a prestigious investigative journalism outlet, she is, in reality, a one-person media YouTuber and content creator with fewer than 300 subscribers.
"Destruction Emperor" is a crime-action entertainment drama that follows a team of hot-blooded detectives as they take down crimes that threaten victims' everyday lives. The story centers on a rogue detective who, while attending the police academy, was arrested for attempted murder as part of an undercover mission. He infiltrated a criminal syndicate, rose to become one of its top enforcers, and ultimately dismantled the organization, at the cost of becoming '80% gangster' himself. He teams up with a police lieutenant who has spent a year single-handedly handling 128 victim protection cases. Together, they protect victims in exhilarating fashion, balancing law and fists, reason and emotion.
After portraying an actress in the spring drama "We Are All Trying Here", Han Sunhwa is set to take on a completely different role as a determined reporter.
The series will be directed by Sin Kyeong-soo, known for "Deep-rooted Tree" and "Six Flying Dragons", with the screenplay written by Kim Won-tae. Lee Do-hyun has been cast as Hwang Cheon-gi, the washed-up detective who is '80% gangster', while Jeon So-nee will play the sincere police lieutenant in charge of victim protection.
