Kim's twelfth feature "The Bow" is a liquid love letter that aims to withstand the test of time. In it, Kim tells us the tale of an old sailor and the young girl he saved nearly a decade before. Together they live aboard a creaking vessel miles from civilisation, and receive only a few sailors that come out to their watery world to fish the open sea. The captain, an aging seadog, has looked after the abandoned girl for almost a decade, and the time has nearly come for them to get married. But when a handsome student finds his way to their salted sanitary, the young girl begins to question her fate and, subsequently, that of her bearded breadwinner. It's a slow and thoughtful piece that comes soaked with sentiment, an emotional affair that is unmistakably Kim and unavoidably magical. Enjoy! [spoilers]
