[HanCinema's News] Ahn Jae-hyun Officially Begins Legal Process to Divorce From Koo Hye-sun

On September 5th Koo Hye-sun was officially served with divorce papers by Ahn Jae-hyun's own attorney. The two will meet in court. In an SNS message Ahn Jae-hyun's attorney stated that documents already released by Koo Hye-sun on social media should be sufficient to allow the court to come to a conclusion regarding the divorce.

The documents referred to were released by Koo Hye-sun on August 18th and consisted of personal correspondence between her and Ahn Jae-hyun. The messages appear to have been released in anger, as Koo Hye-sun believed that Ahn Jae-hyun and their agency were going to claim they had mutually agreed to divorce. Koo Hye-sun has claimed she did not and still does not want a divorce.
The strength of Ahn Jae-hyun's legal argument is unclear. The messages referred to by Ahn Jae-hyun's attorney allege abandonment on Ahn Jae-hyun's part, but this would be grounds to allow Koo Hye-sun to file for divorce, not Ahn Jae-hyun. The two were married in 2016, having met while working on the 2015 drama "Blood".
