[HanCinema's News] "Alienoid: Return to the Future" Breaks 400,000 Viewer Mark

According to the Korean Film Council, "Alienoid: Return to the Future" earned 189,179 admissions in its fifth day of availability at the South Korean box office, January 14th. This now brings the sci-fi comic action mashup film to 648,653 admissions overall. The results are underwhelming, given the movie's fifty million dollar budget, and suggest that "Alienoid: Return to the Future" will have a similarly mediocre box office performance as its predecessor "Alienoid" did in 2022.

"Alienoid: Return to the Future" as well as "Alienoid" are the latest project from hitmaker Choi Dong-hoon, whose exceptional record in the South Korean film industry includes such hits as "The Thieves" from 2012 and "Assassination" from 2015, both films on the all-time top ten for the South Korean box office. It is not known whether Choi Dong-hoon's name will attract such faith from investors in the future. The director has no confirmed upcoming projects.
