[HanCinema's News] "Ballerina" Hits Second Place on Netflix Leaderboard

New figures from FlixPatrol show that the the action film "Ballerina" is now the second most popular movie on the streaming platform worldwide. "Ballerina" is now charting in the top ten of sixty-two different countries. The charts released on October 10th, the fourth such charts available, have "Ballerina" as the most popular movie in a wide variety of territories, including Brazil, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

"Ballerina" has had particularly noteworthy popularity across Latin and South America. "Ballerina" stars Jeon Jong-seo as a bodyguard who seeks to take revenge on the behalf of her best friend. The project is the latest from writer/director Lee Chung-hyun, who directed "The Call" in 2020 which became a major acquisition for Netflix that year as COVID-19 stalled its theatrical release indefinitely. "Ballerina" was released on Netflix worldwide this past October 6th.
