[HanCinema's News] "Black Money" Wins Big at KFPA Awards

On December 21st the Korean Film Producers Association (KFPA) announced the winners of this year's awards. Eligible movies included one hundred sixty-two films released between October 1st of 2019 and September 30th of 2020. "Black Money" won best picture at the awards, and also nabbed a best lead actor nod for Cho Jin-woong in the leading role as a prosecutor investigating malfeasance in the financial industry.

"The Man Standing Next" also had a decent night with a best director nod for Woo Min-ho, best production design for Cho Hwa-sung and Park Kyu-bin, and best cinematography for Hong Kyung-pyo. "Lucky Chan-sil" also had two wins with Kim Cho-hee winning for best screenplay and Youn Yuh-jung winning best supporting actress. The award for best actress in a leading role went to Kim Hee-ae of "Moonlit Winter". Han Mi-yeon got the best editing award for "Beasts Clawing at Straws", Kim Tae-seong best score for "KIM Jiyoung: Born 1982", Jung Do-an and Yoon Hyung-tae best special effects for "Peninsula", Kim Suk-won best sound for "Peninsula", and Bae Il-hyuk best lighting for "Deliver Us From Evil".
