By William Schwartz | Published on
The Itaewon Halloween Disaster has been a tragic event worldwide, with over one hundred and fifty people dead from a stampede in one of Seoul's most fashionable districts. As the Itaewon Halloween Disaster has quickly become a major news story, the broadcast networks have been running special news reports as to the causes of and responses to the disaster. Consequently, regular programming is now on an unanticipated break.

Neither the ninth nor the tenth episode of the hybrid university drama "Cheer Up" will air on SBS this week. because of the decreased number of television dramas in South Korean prime time slots, most of the other preempted programs are all variety shows. "Curtain Call" on KBS continued its originally planned premiere, as did "Mental Coach Jegal" on tvN. As tvN is not a broadcast network, it does not normally run news stories.
