On June 27th the DCInside gallery for domestic South Korean dramas released a statement about Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki's planned divorce. This gallery was deemed the most appropriate venue to make a statement as "Descendants of the Sun", having finished three years ago, no longer had its own exclusive gallery.

The statement starts by going into the context of the news and how it took so many people by surprise. At the time the romance was still ongoing, support for the beautiful couple was widespread, and reached its apex with their wedding on October of 2017.

However, the statement continues by saying that even if their relationship seemed destined by the heavens, it was not the place of fans to ascribe too much fault on Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki for the marriage to not have worked out. The statement stated that maturity hurts, and urged readers to support Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki in whatever projects they will seek out in the future having parted their separate ways.

Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki's divorce was made public by the filings of legal papers on June 26th. While Song Joong-ki filed the paperwork, Song Hye-kyo is not contesting it and a reconciliation is not expected at this time.
