[HanCinema's News] "Decision to Leave" Passes Break-even Point for Production Costs

On July 18th the Korean Film Council confirmed that the melodrama film "Decision to Leave" from director Park Chan-wook had accumulated some 77,047 admissions the previous day for a total of 1,247,197 admissions. This odd number represents a milestone for the film's production, as it recoups the production costs. According to CJ ENM, "Decision to Leave" cost approximately 8.5 million dollars to make, or 10 million dollars if marketing costs are included.

The Cannes Film Festival honored movie came out in South Korea and France on June 29th, Indonesia on July 13th, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam on July 14th, and Taiwan on July 15th.

There are still more regions waiting on the film's official release. These include Hong Kong and Macao on July 21st, Thailand on August 4th, the Czech Republic on August 18th, the Netherlands on September 1st, Russia on September 29th, and the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on October 14th.
