By William Schwartz | Published on
According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, the occult film "Exhuma" earned 207,984 admissions on March 4th, a Monday. The figures are unsurprising given the tremendous success of "Exhuma" overall. The film is now the most successful ever from writer/director Jang Jae-hyeon, even outperforming "The Priests" from 2015, with over six million admissions compared to five million from his debut feature.

"Exhuma" has been buoyed by a strong marketing campaign that's included stage greetings from the performers in the cities of Busan and Daegu over the last weekend. "Exhuma" reached two million admissions in four days, three million admissions in seven days, four million admissions in nine days, five million admissions in ten days, and six million admissions in eleven days of availability. It currently stands at 6,241,811 admissions overall as of its twelfth day of availability.
Actor Lee Do-hyun is currently undergoing his mandatory military service, and is unable to participate in the marketing campaign. However, he did have leave on March 1st, and took time to apologize to his fans for being unable to meet them in person while also thanking them for hitting the four million viewer milestone. Other stars of the film thanked fans for their support more traditionally with posts of their holding up written thank yous for the six million viewer milestone.
