[HanCinema's News] "Family by Choice" Tops Viu Charts in Indonesia and Malaysia

On October 29th, the streaming platform Viu released data on what their most watched shows were for the fourth week of October, here defined as October 21st to October 27th. For the third straight week, "Family by Choice" is the most popular drama in Indonesia on Viu. "Family by Choice" is also now the most popular drama in Malaysia, the second most popular drama in the Philippines, third in Singapore and Taiwan, and fifth in Hong Kong.

"Family by Choice" deals with three young people who treated each other as family in their childhoods reuniting as adults. The format blends the romance genre with the family genre of South Korean dramas, and has shown noteworthy success across Asia despite lacking the high concept popular South Korean dramas are better known for. It stars Hwang In-youp, Jung Chae-yeon, and Bae Hyun-sung in leading roles.
