According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on August 8th, "Hansan: Rising Dragon" continues to lead at the South Korean box office at the end of its second weekend. The historical war movie now stands at 4,598,529 admissions. "Hansan: Rising Dragon" also led the box office from August 5th to August 7th despite the release of the aviation disaster film "Emergency Declaration" on August 3rd. "Emergency Declaration" led the box office for August 3rd and August 4th.

Over the three-day weekend period, "Hansan: Rising Dragon" had 1,156,894 admissions. "Emergency Declaration" had 817,094 admissions over that period, for a cumulative total of 1,398,281 admissions. This news places "Hansan: Rising Dragon" as the likely decisive victor of the summer box office season, though it has a long way to go to reach the twelve million admission record set by "The Roundup" earlier this year. "Hansan: Rising Dragon" opened in South Korean theaters on July 27th.
