[HanCinema's News] "Hansan: Rising Dragon" Sets Record for Early Reservations

Five days before it theatrical release on July 27th, "Hansan: Rising Dragon" has set a record for early reservations. According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, the historical action film about legendary general Yi Sun-shin has logged eighty thousand confirmed tickets. Earlier this year "The Roundup" only earned that many admissions two days before its theatrical release.

"The Admiral: Roaring Currents" which also dealt with the general and is the all-time box office leader in South Korea also only reached that benchmark two days before its theatrical release. This news suggests that "Hansan: Rising Dragon" will have an exceptionally strong opening at the South Korean box office. However, it will still face competition from "Alienoid" although that fantasy film has not been showing early indicators as strong as "Hansan: Rising Dragon" has.
