"The Heavenly Idol" is based on the web novel of the same title, and deals with a little-known celebrity idol who is possessed by the spirit of Lembrary, a powerful godly figure. It was not immediately clear from the press release how Choi Jeong-seo or Wild Animal fits into Lembrary's adventure, though readers of the web novel likely have a decent idea. Hong Seung-bum's character is projected to have an optimistic, adult charm fitting that of the actor.
Hong Seung-bum made his debut in 2017 with "Nothing to Lose" where he played the role of a genius hacker. His most recent performance was in the 2021 film "Show Me the Ghost" where he investigates a haunted house alongside the other two lead characters. "The Heavenly Idol" is expected to start appearing on television in the first half of this year.
