[HanCinema's News] "I, The Executioner" Passes Seven Million Viewer Mark

According to figures from the Korean Film Council, "I, The Executioner" passed the seven million mark over the weekend, hitting the milestone on October 6th. "I, The Executioner" has been earning around eighty thousand admissions per day in its fourth weekend. While "I, The Executioner" was still the top performing film at the South Korean box office on Saturday, it is unlikely to hit the eight million viewer mark and will fall well short of the thirteen million viewers who watched "Veteran" in 2015.

Nevertheless, "I, The Executioner" is still the fourth highest performing South Korean film this year. First place went to "Exhuma" and second place to "The Roundup: Punishment" while the American film Inside Out 2 is number three. "I, The Executioner" stars Hwang Jung-min and several other actors from the original "Veteran" reprising their roles to try and catch a serial killer. Jung Hae-in is a new addition to the film, playing a cop who joins their police unit in the action film.
