[HanCinema's News] Kang Ji-hwan Under Investigation for Illicit Drug Use
By William Schwartz | Published on
Police have announced that in addition to sexual assault charges Kang Ji-hwan is also under suspicion for the use of illicit substances. The reason for this is that when police arrived at Kang Ji-hwan's home in response to an emergency call, he was acting very strangely and they were surprised to learn that he was the alleged assailant.

Police refused to answer any further questions about this aside from acknowledging that they were currently awaiting the results of a drug test. However, their suspicions are consistent with Kang Ji-hwan's erratic behavior on July 9th. Reportedly, he personally led police to the locked room where the distress call originated.
Kang Ji-hwan's drama, "Joseon Survival", had to be put on hold due to the investigation and ultimately Kang Ji-hwan was replaced. On the morning of July 18th Kang Ji-hwan was also moved to a facility in Seongnam from Suwon in order to better further the investigation.
