[HanCinema's News] Kim Da-mi Favorite of Cameras At Baeksang Art Awards

As a nominee for Best New Actress, Kim Da-mi was sure to appear for the 55th Baeksang Awards, even if she ultimately did not come home the winner. However, South Korean press took special notice of Kim Da-mi at the event anyway, owing to her unusual fashion choices.

As can be seen in the photos, Kim Da-mi came wearing a suit. This was a far cry from what other women wore to the event- generally elegant and beautiful dresses. The formal wear may signify the kind of career Kim Da-mi is hoping to achieve in the Korean entertainment industry.
Aside from the outfit's unusually androgynous appearance, observe how it makes Kim Da-mi look fairly old. As an actress in her mid-twenties, Kim Da-mi is obviously not the high school student she portrayed in "The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion". The choice of wadrobe may hint that Kim Da-mi wants to be taken seriously as a young woman, rather than a girl, and certainly not as a girly girl.
Such a tonal decision would be very in brand with how "The Witch : Part 1. The Subversion" ended, as the clearly dangerous protagonist sets off to hunt for new quarry. Some expectation yet remains that the film may have a sequel.
