Kim Dae-geon, for his part, also liked the script but claimed to be particularly impressed by Song Won-jun's previous short films, one of which is featured in the omnibus feature "Their Who Inside Us" from 2020. Kim Dae-geon went on to say that he had desire yet also apprehension for his own character, who must deal with severe revelations as the narrative progresses. Kim Dae-geon was concerned that he might overdo the acting in those parts.

Kim Dae-geon described his character as a person who gave up his own dreams as a means of sacrifice. But despite that, Joo-hyeok tend to process his situation in bright terms, making him an emotionally healthy person. Kim Dae-geon believes that this is why Joo-hyeok doesn't crumble under the greater stress of the situation. Kim Dae-geon considers this to be the core aspect of his character, and this was his focus throughout all his scenes to maintain focus and become Joo-hyeok.

For the most memorable scene, Kim Dae-geon mentioned the shoe-tying scene in the second half, stating that the first time he tried to do it he ended up crying. Kim Dae-geon gave this as an example of his having to avoid overdoing his acting for the sake of the audience. At such moments, he often had to hide his face from the camera in some way to make it unclear how he was reacting. Kim Dae-geon often deliberated with Song Won-jun ahead of time how to properly capture the mood of such scenes.

Kim Dae-geon claimed thatall the scenes resonate in his memory for reasons like this. Many takes were used that could emphasize either the difficulty of an immediate task or the generally unrepentant manner of his character. One difficulty was how to play a brother. As Kim Dae-geon has no siblings, he had to talk to Min Dohee a lot about her own brother in order to better grasp what he should be doing.
