On April 7th the KT Group held an event at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel in the Songpa District of Seoul. The purpose of the media day was to detail investment plans by the group to produce scripted serial dramas. KT Group is valued at three billion dollars and they have hopes to improve that total to over four billion dollars by 2025. KT Group hopes to power this expansion through its increasing importance as a media distributor in the South Korean market as well as internationally.

A big part of this plan involves the KT Group getting involved with so-called megahits. One such project is "Never Give Up" starring Kwak Do-won in the title role as the eccentric middle-aged mentor figure to a young entrepreneur played by Yoon Doo-joon. Another such project is "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" which stars Park Eun-bin in the title role as an autistic attorney. "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" will have an international reach when it releases on Netflix later this year.
The distribution arm of the KT Group's involves sychronizing with SkyTV and MediaGenie to create EDNA, or Entertainment DNA, a new television channel focusing on family-friendly programming. Four hundred million dollars are being invested to joint ventures between the three organizations to produce quality programming. A spokesperson for the KT Group stated that they believe consolidation of these various sources into a unified brand will be accomplished on a fairly quick timetable.
