[HanCinema's News] Lee Yeon-hee Joins New Agency Following Marriage

VAST Entertainment recently announced that Lee Yeon-hee would now be represented by the agency. In a statement, they said they had great hopes when it came to assisting her in upcoming times of change and challenge in a happy future. Lee Yeon-hee had been represented by SM Entertainment for some nineteen years. The move likely seems aimed at bolstering her acting career.

Ironically few fans know of Lee Yeon-hee for her musical work, despite her being represented by SM Entertainment. Her first leading role in a drama was "Paradise Ranch" in 2010 and has had scattered work as a lead ever since then, most recently appearing in "he Gam" earlier this year. This may have been the main point of discontent with SM Entertainment- they simply weren't aggressive enough when it came to finding her more acting work.
This problem was likely intensified by Lee Yeon-hee getting married back in June to a non-celebrity, fueling speculation that the actress may have been taking a step back from entertainment work. The switch to VAST Entertainment comes shortly before the premiere of "New Year Blues", an omnibus romance in which Lee Yeon-hee stars. The move will allow Lee Yeon-hee to take further advantage of publicity surrounding the movie as she searches for a new project.
