According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, the romantic drama "Love in the Big City" has overtaken its two main competitors at the South Korean box office this weekend in early reservations. Though third place in the Saturday box office receipts, "Love in the Big City" has seen gradually building interest since its October 1st premiere. With "I, The Executioner" winding down its run, the American film Joker: Folie a Deux is its other main competition.

Much of the increase appears to be due to recommendations from people who have seen the film- "Love in the Big City" has a 93% self-reported viewer rating on CGV's website. This compares to 87% for "I, The Executioner" and Joker: Folie a Deux. "Love in the Big City" stars Kim Go-eun navigating modern life as well as a romance with Steve Sanghyun Noh, and is based on the novel of the same title by Park Sang-young.
