[HanCinema's News] "Lovely Runner" Popularity Causes Surge in Interest for the Original Webtoon and Webnovel

With ratings hovering in the 3-4% range, "Lovely Runner" hasn't been a huge success on South Korean television. However, the time slip romance has struck a chord with younger demographics, leading its timeslot in the 20-49 year old demographic. Additionally, "Lovely Runner" has served as an effective advertisement for its source material. For the past two weeks, "Lovely Runner" has been in the top ten listings on Kakao Page's top ten.

The difference is particularly dramatic compared to before and after the television drama started airing. From March 25th to April 7th compared to April 8th to 21st, views for the webnovel quadrupled while earnings jumped to 8.2 times their previous level. For the same period of time for the webtoon, the increase was 3.6 times as many views and 5.5 times as many earnings, showing that in both cases curious readers were willing to pay money to find out what happens next.
The webnovel was originally serialized from 2019 to 2021. It is available in the United States in English under the title The Best of Tomorrow, and is also available to read in France, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and other regions in translation. "Lovely Runner" had ratings of 4.095% in its most recent episode, the eighth, which aired on April 30th.
