By William Schwartz | Published on
For the fourth week of May, the screenplay of "Lovely Runner" was the most widely sold book in South Korea. The news comes despite the fact that the screenplay of "Lovely Runner" is still available only for preorder. The book will not actually be available for purchase until late July. Nevertheless, since preorders opened on May 24th through to May 29th, the "Lovely Runner" screenplay is not only the most widely sold book of the weekend, but the seventh most widely sold book so far this year.

Some 34.1% of purchases of the screenplay are by customers in their thirties, while 29.7% of them are in their twenties in terms of age demographics. The original novel on which "Lovely Runner" is based is at 19th place in the same rankings, and is the number one book in its category of novels/poetry/plays. These sales are double what they were the previous week, most likely lifted by this being the final week of "Lovely Runner" which ended on May 28th.
For the original novel, 35.2% of purchases were in their forties. Though there are no plans at present to release the screenplay internationally, the publisher seems to have taken international fans into account and has promised English translations of new supplementary material not appearing in the drama itself. "Lovely Runner" ended on May 28th with ratings of 5.762%.
