A recent news variety show profiled several major South Korean stars who had humble beginnings having to work part-time jobs in order to make ends meet. One such star was Nam Joo-hyuk, the eighth in the list, and over this appearance Nam Joo-hyuk gives some surprisingly specific numbers for his income past and present. According to Nam Joo-hyuk, in 2013, working three different jobs, he had a monthly income of 2,449,400 won, or approximately $2000.

Nam Joo-hyuk then proceeded to describe his current fee for appearing in an episode as around fifty million won, or around $40,000. Nam Joo-hyuk then multiplied this figure by sixteen to calculate his fee for a full sixteen episode drama, claiming that his income has multiplied by three hundred and twenty six. Nam Joo-hyuk is almost certainly using "Twenty Five Twenty One" for reference as it is his most recent project. The nostalgic themed romance ended on April 3rd with ratings of 11.5%.
