[HanCinema's News] "#ALIVE" Opens on South Korean VOD Services

On July 28th zombie movie made its appearance on local South Korean Video On Demand services. The move was abrupt, but expected. While "Alive" had long had a lingering presence at the South Korean box office since its June 24th release, the release of "Steel Rain 2: Summit" the next day effectively killed what little demand for screens the movie still had.

Consequently "#ALIVE" leaves the South Korean box office with around 1.9 million admissions, falling just short of the 2 million viewer admission mark. "#ALIVE" has also fallen short of its break-even point, which has been estimated at 2.2 million admissions. The movie will no doubt make money once secondary distribution has been factored in.
