[HanCinema's News] Netflix and JTBC Announce New Contract
By William Schwartz | Published on
On November 25th Netflix and jTBC announced a new contents project together. Under the terms of the contract JTBC will provide Netflix with around twenty dramas over the coming three year period. Though the dramas will be identified as jTBC titles domestically, internationally they will be branded as Netflix originals in the 190 territories where Netflix will hold the distribution rights.

The new contract is an effective extension of an earlier one reached between the two companies back in April of 2017. That contract specified six hundred hours of either dramas or variety show content. The new terms appear to imply that Netflix and jTBC consider the drama content to be more valuable.
A representative from jTBC said that they hoped the deal would allow jTBC to gain more brand exposure worldwide. A representative of Netflix had praiseful words for the quality of the dramas jTBC has provided to them. "My Country: The New Age" and "Chief of Staff - Season 2" are two prominent titles currently available on Netflix internationally, thanks to the previously existing deal.
