[HanCinema's News] New Character Posters Released for "#ALIVE"

On June 8th "#ALIVE" released new character posters for the upcoming film, which is expected to premiere in South Korean theaters on June 24th. The selection was limited, as "#ALIVE" only really has two characters to speak of- one played by Yoo Ah-in and another by Park Shin-hye, isolated survivors of a zombie apocalypse.

The posters in question appear to depict the exact moment when, in continuity, the zombie apocalypse wiped out the Internet. Yoo Ah-in's poster features a cryptic reference to 6:24 AM alongside references to Seoul, South Korea, and a notice that the Internet has been cut off. However, the timestamp may just be a reference to the theatrical release date. The Park Shin-hye poster also contains two hastags- #Outside and #TheyRun.
The perplexed expressions on both Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye's faces hint at their only just recently realized that something has gone wrong. The visible cracks also serve dual purposes, calling to mind the physical danger of the zombie apocalypse while also serving as a reminder that for economic reasons many people are forced to use cracked phones. "#ALIVE" has been marketed to date as a survival thriller, and these new posters continue that trend.
