On November 11th the upcoming movie "The Call" released new production stills. "The Call" is currently set for an international release on November 27th, the production company having decided to abandon the original planned theatrical release back in March. "The Call" is likely to be a test case going forward in the COVID-19 era in terms of genre films going straight to Netflix without attempting a proper box office release first.

"The Call" stars Park Shin-hye and Jeon Jong-seo as a pair of women separated by twenty years of real time who live in the same house. Marketing for the mystery science fiction thriller have showcased very dark elements as a dangerous situation forces the two women to try to use the time-traveling telephone to deal with disastrous events. Most of the still shots released of the movie have demonstrated ominous use of lighting to heighten the impression of intensity.
"The Call" is the first feature film from director Lee Chung-hyun. He recently released the short film "Heart Attack" this year. He also wrote the dramatization for "Heart Blackened". Regarding "Call", he has said that he has tried to craft a movie that is unpredictable from beginning to end. At present Netflix is the only confirmed distributor for "The Call".
