[HanCinema's News] Nielsen Report Names "The Fiery Priest" Top Drama of First Half of 2019

For miniseries running from January 1st to July 14th Nielsen Korea has determined that "The Fiery Priest" was the best performing drama of the first half of 2019. The top rating for "The Fiery Priest" was 24.7%, but other relevant designations include the drama's average rating, which was determined to be 18.1%, also the highest. "The Fiery Priest" also had the highest rating from advertisers, at 7.63%.

"The Fiery Priest" came from director Lee Myeong-woo and screenwriter Park Jae-beom-I. The drama grabbed attention thanks in part to its extreme investigative style and concept, but also thanks to its popular cast. Kim Nam-gil played the titular priest, while Kim Sung-kyun and Lee Hanee had more official roles in his crime solving endeavors.
"Doctor Prisoner" ranked number two, "SKY Castle" number three, "The Last Empress" number four, and "A Pledge to God" was number five by Nielsen Korea's metrics. "Liver or Die" was number six, "Alhambra Chronicles" number seven, "Encounter" number eight, "Love in Sadness" number nine, and "The Crowned Clown" number ten.
