[HanCinema's News] "Noryang: Deadly Sea" to Premiere in Los Angeles in December 22nd

Only two days after its premiere in South Korea, "Noryang: Deadly Sea" has been confirmed to appear in theaters in the United States- four in the Los Angeles area. The announcement comes courtesy of Well Go USA, which also distributed "Hansan: Rising Dragon" in the United States last year. Both films are related to "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" from nine years ago, the all-time best-performing film at the South Korean box office, all of which depict the sixteenth century admiral Yi Sun-shin.

Director Kim Han-min is responsible for all three films. "Noryang: Deadly Sea" was originally set to premiere last Christmas, but repeatedly had its release date pushed back to better perfect the post-producton work. "Noryang: Deadly Sea" is expected to easily top the South Korean box office this weekend, with nearly half of all film reservations being for the title. Its main competition is "12.12: The Day" as the twentieth century military historical film aims for ten million viewers.
