On July 7th Just Entertainment confirmed that actor Oh Seung-hoon would be appearing in "Believer 2" on Netflix this year as the lead. This follows up on a previous announcement from "Believer 2" itself that Oh Seung-hoon would be among the crime action film's cast, though he was not explicitly described as the lead from that time. He will be playing the role of Rock, who was played by Ryu Jun-yeol in the first film.

It is not entirely clear how "Believer 2" relates to the continuity of the first film, as Oh Seung-hoon is younger than Ryu Jun-yeol and also, the character of Rock was strongly implied to have been killed at the end of the first movie. "Believer 2" will be the first director credit for Baek Jong-yeol since "Beauty Inside" which came out in 2015. Cho Jin-woong will also be returning in the lead role as Won-ho, but for the most part the cast and crew are completely different.
In a statement, Oh Seung-hoon said that it is a big honor to be working with so many elder professionals, and that he was nervous about such a big role. Nevertheless, he promised to do his best. Oh Seung-hoon is currently most recently appeared in the television drama "Bloody Heart" which ended on June 21st. "Believer 2" is expected to begin filming as soon as casting is finalized, and should appear on Netflix worldwide sometime in 2023.
