In "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations" Park Hae-soo plays Ji-hoon, a prosecutor sent by the National Intelligence Service to investigate a spy operation that appears to have gone rogue. Park Hae-soo described it as a role unlike any he had performed in the past, which is what drew him to the project. Park Hae-soo described the production of the film as a fun time, as he acquainted himself with a large number of characters of different generations and philosophies.
Park Hae-soo had strong words of praise for Sul Kyung-gu, who plays the leader of the rogue intelligence operation. Park Hae-soo claimed to have learned a lot from the older actor, who he described as a big person not just in terms of screen presence and reputation but also in how he advised his co-stars how to do their very best. Beyond just as an actor, Park Hae-soo describes Sul Kyung-gu has a very respectable person, and hoped that he could one day be an actoer like that.
Park Hae-soo said that in terms of his own performance, he used his relative inexperience in spy action movies to his advantage. His character is also a novice to such intense operations. Park Hae-soo claimed that this was the approach he came up with after much discussion with director Nah Hyeon over the matter. Park Hae-soo noted that his character's adherence to the rules, while making him noble and trustworthy, was still a clear disadvantage at certain parts of the script.
Park Hae-soo also had words of praise for his co-stars, who he felt effectively made him look and feel like the black sheep of the operation. Despite that, he felt welcomed, and even mentioned stories of having drinks with Sul Kyung-gu and Lee El on raindy days. "Yaksha: Ruthless Operations" premiered on Netflix this past April 8th.
