Park Min-young has long had a strong presence in the South Korean entertainment industry since debuting in the situation comedy "High Kick" back in 2006. Her most recent drama, the romantic comedy "Her Private Life" from earlier this year, earned strong praise for her performance as well as leading man Kim Jae-wook, even as the drama overall had fairly weak ratings.
Lim Yoona has been a frequent favorite at the Asia Music Awards, having earned five of them to date, tying for second on the overall list. Having taken a break from acting last year Lim Yoona has had a high profile and highly praised performance in the summer blockbuster "Exit - Movie", which will likely further improve her standing.
Lastly, actress Lee Jung-eun suggests that this year's ceremony may have more of a tilt toward artistically minded films, specifically "Parasite", for which Lee Jung-eun has been a major breakout star, despite her role only being a supporting one. Other small drama roles from "Mister Sunshine" to "The Light in Your Eyes" to "Strangers from Hell" have also increased her visibility.
