[HanCinema's News] "Pilot" Continues to Lead in Second Week at the South Korean Box Office

On August 9th, the Korean Film Council released data confirming that even in its second week, "Pilot" is the most popular film at the South Korean box office. The August 8th box office receipts show that the aviation themed comedy earned 127,363 admissions on August 8th. This brings its overall total to 2,306,088 admissions. The project is the first film for lead actor Cho Jung-seok since "Exit - Movie" from 2019.

"Pilot" is also the film debut for Lee Ju-myoung, who came to be lead cast after enjoying breakout success for "Twenty Five Twenty One" with only a supporting role to her credit at the time. Second place went to the newly released animated film "Heartsping : Teenieping of Love" with 35,186 admissions for an overall total of 142,344 admissions. "Revolver" is the other new film of the weekend, and had 27,490 admissions for an overall total of 87,286 admissions in third place.
