[HanCinema's News] "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" 1+1 Event Sells Out
By William Schwartz | Published on
To commemorate "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" receiving three hundred thousand viewers at the domestic box office, participating theaters offered a limited run 1+1 event for new reservations. The encore event sold out almost immediately, demonstrating surprising staying power for the domestic animated film even in the face of overwhelming competition.

"Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" has benefited from extremely positive word of mouth recommendations and online comments from people who have seen the movie. "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" has also obtained much regard for being a feature length animated film produced entirely by Koreans for a mainstream audience on a quality scale comparable to that of a major American animation studio.
Unfortunately, market saturation renders "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" at a major competitive disadvantage even in its local market, since a relatively unknown studio can't compete with major American studios in terms of marketing. Though rights to the movie have been sold to over a hundred countries, "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" will mostly receive exposure in these markets through secondary distribution services.
