[HanCinema's News] Ryu Seong-hie Wins First Camellia Award at Busan International Film Festival

In a recent press release, the Busan International Film Festival announced that renowned production designer Ryu Seong-hie is the first recipient of the festival's new Camellia Award. The purpose of this award is to honor women in cinema. Ryu Seong-hie's record in this regard is beyond reproach. "Oldboy" and "The Handmaiden" and "Decision to Leave" are just a few of the major titles over the years for which Ryu Seong-hie has confirmed credits.

The award is named after the city flower of Busan. The camellia is also, incidentally, the favorite of Gabrielle Chanel. The French fashion company bearing her name is a sponsor of the award alongside the festival itself. Ryu Seong-hie will accept the Camellia Award at Biff's Opening Ceremony on October 2nd. She will also be speaking at a special talk on October 5th that's being held at the Busan International Film Festival this year.
