On August 3rd, the eleventh episode of "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" featured a surprise appearance from actress Seo Hye-won-II. There, she played the role of Chae Da-hye, a witness in a civil lawsuit that was being litigated by the title character. In the episode, the plaintiffs alleged that the defendent had agreed with them before buying a lottery ticket that the winnings would be shared. Chae Da-hye testified that such an agreement had indeed been made.

Subsequent turns in the plot, however, revealed that Chae Da-hye had an undisclosed interest in the lawsuit proving a success. She had been having an affair with one of the plaintiffs, who had hoped to use a share of the million dollar payout to divorce his wife. Despite the importance of Seo Hye-won-II's character in the larger plot of the episode, her presence had not been announced ahead of time due to her relatively unknown status as an actress.
But Seo Hye-won-II's reputation is quickly picking up. She played the best friend of the lead character played by Jung In-sun in "Let Me Be Your Knight" last year. This was followed up with a role in "Business Proposal" this year as the cousin of the character played by Seol In-ah. And now in "Alchemy of Souls" she plays the role of a pickpocket who had an altercation with a goon played by Shim Jae-hyun, ultimately being saved thanks to the intervention of the lead character played by Jung So-min.
