[HanCinema's News] Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho Confirmed for "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha"

Recently the upcoming tvN drama "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" confirmed that actors Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho had been confirmed for the leading roles. "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" had previously been known by the working title "Mr. Handy" which signified that the project was a remake of the "Mr. Handy" film from 2004. The premise and characters are the same. Shin Min-a will play ambitious dentist Yoon Hye-jin while Kim Seon-ho will play the friendly neighborhood handyman Hong Doo-sik.

As with "Mr. Handy" so too is "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" expected to explore the citywise and perpetually cranky Hye-jin living in a more peaceful seaside community. Doo-sik, as is his habit, pops up at random intervals to assist whatever random tasks his neighbors need help with. "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" is being premised more as a straight romantic comedy than its source material, however, with the latter being deliberately ambiguous as to their relationship.
The project comes with high expectations. Shin Min-a's last romantic comedy was the reasonably popular "Oh My Venus" back in 2015. Kim Seon-ho has been a big target of fan interest since his breaking out as the second lead in "Start Up" last year. After a brief return to stage acting, Kim Seon-ho's international fans are eager to see him in a context where they can watch him with subtitles. "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" is expected to air on tvN sometime in the second half of this year.
