[HanCinema's News] Special CGV Screening of the Final Episode of "Lovely Runner" Concludes as Planned

Last week, CGV was forced to apologize to fans when a technical snafu allowed ticket scalpers to acquire fan tickets for a special screening of the final episode of "Lovely Runner" on May 28th. Fortunately, as promised, the errors were fixed, allowing for the final event, with a guest visit from the stars, to proceed as planned. According to CGV's official totals, 879 of the 1000 ticket holders were women, and 841 of them were in the coveted twenty to thirty something age demographic.

The event did not take place in a vacuum. From May 23rd to May 29th, the I Park Mall in Yongsan was running a pop up store featuring photo zones and merchandise adjacent to "Lovely Runner" in the second floor basement. Seventeen products inspired by the show were on sale there, including badges, t-shirts, ecobags, and keyrings. Some of these products managed to sell out in the first day. The pop up store is now planned to appear in Busan, and the merchandise will also be sold online.
"Lovely Runner" opened with fairly modest ratings of 3.1% and only earned 5.762% ratings in its final episode, but the drama has been noteworthy for cultivating a strong fanbase. The CGV screening of the final episode in particular was planned as a big thank you to fans, with all major cast and much of the crew and supporting cast in attendance. Byeon Woo-seok purportedly had tears in his eyes thanking the crew for everything he learned from them.
Kim Hye-yoon, for her part, thanked the fans for making "Lovely Runner" such a success they could make the screening event at all. She said that she wouldn't forget these memories as they had graced her soul. "Lovely Runner" aired on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays from April 8th to May 28th. Rakuten Viki licenses "Lovely Runner" for streaming worldwide.
